DIMETHICONE

Dimethicone is a silicone-based polymer that is frequently used as a skin protectant in skincare products. The second most common moisturizing ingredient found in moisturizers after petrolatum, dimethicone helps condition the skin—improving its softness and flexibility.

CYCLOMETHICONE

Cyclomethicone is a volatile silicone that gives slip to skincare products, improves their texture, and carries active ingredients into the skin before evaporating into thin air. It’s safe to use and doesn’t clog pores.

DIISOPROPYL ADIPATE

Diethylhexyl and Diisopropyl Adipate act as lubricants on the skin’s surface, which gives the skin a soft and smooth appearance. They are also used to dissolve other substances in cosmetics and personal care products and to soften synthetic compounds by reducing brittleness and cracking.

HEXYLENE GLYCOL

Hexylene glycol is most often synthetically produced. It is manufactured by the condensation of 2 molecules of acetone to produce diacetone alcohol, which is further hydrogenated to produce hexylene glycol. This is then purified. It helps to improve the texture and sensory feel of the formulation. Hexylene glycol functions as a surfactant, emulsifier, and a viscosity-reducing agent.
